recycled gondolas

These old gondola cabins from a ski resort are now part of a lakeside playground. You can see the ski holders on either side of each door.

Nice reciclying! It's always a good sign to make the most with every stuff instead of make it garbage!

Great idea to reuse instead of trash. Wish we'd all get into that habit!! Good post!

Nice way to recycle old cabins. In NYC, old subway trains are submerged into the sea to create a reef like environment for sea life.

andreea - hehe, you like the 'skiholders' eh? well, the newer gondolas have wider slots now - to accommodate snowboards, of course!

on recycling/reuse - another interesting thing I've seen around here: in the countryside old bathtubs are sometimes used as drinking troughs for the cows. So if you are ever driving around in Switzerland and see a random bathtub sitting under a tree, that's what it's for! perhaps the subject of a future post? but technically it would be outside of Zurich. Maybe I'll let Z in Villigen do that one...that's more in her neck of the woods.
