ferien

Hello fellow DP'ers, friends, and regular visitors. I'm off on vacation for two weeks and will have iffy access to computers & internet. I may post a few stock photos occasionally, and will do my best to post on November 1st for Daily Photo Theme Day. However, I'm not making any promises. I'll be back in mid November. In the meantime, to get your daily Zürich fix, visit Richard's blog at http://zurich.dailyphoto.forthmedia.com/dailyphoto/

Die Berner Alpen, if I'm not mistaken, with Eiger North Face middle right? From your comment on my blog yesterday I'm guessing you are not the virtuous breakfast sort.... ;)

Top 3 must see things in Switzerland?
The Land of the Alps. A neutral territory. A country famous for good cheese and fine chocolate. These are just a few things Switzerland is known as. There are several spectacular Switzerland tourist attractions, too, which is why many travellers flock to this Swiss nation each year. Here are just five of them which should definitely be included in your itinerary.

1. The Chillon Castle - Also known as the Chateau de Chillon, the Chillon Castle is one of the most famous castles in Switzerland located near Montreux. It was home to the Count of Savoys from the 12th to the 14th century, and consists of 100 buildings, several dungeons, three courtyards and four great halls. Each hall provides spectacular views of Lake Geneva.

2. Zermatt - Located at the foot of the Matterhorn, Zermatt is not just a favorite destination for skiiers from all across the globe. It is also one of the top Switzerland tourist attractions. It is here where you can truly be captivated by the sight of the Swiss Alps while skiing the slopes or shopping and dining around town.

3. Geneva Jet D'eau - Projecting water up to 140 meters high, the Geneva Jet D'eau is one of the tallest fountains in the world. It was built in 1891 and is also considered one of the symbols of the city of Geneva.
