sleeping swans

Looking across the river from Schipfe: Limmatquai, shops, Prediger Kirche--one of Zürich's many churches, and part of a University building on the upper left. What I like best about this shot though, are the sleeping swans, which are barely visible in the foreground. I guess it's because typically they're pretty aggressive (especially when it comes to fighting over bread crumbs), and at night when they are asleep they look so peaceful and harmless.

I think this is a marvelous photo. I am like you -- and like the swans asleep. I think it is amazing too that the swans have great protection in the feathers so that the water is not absorbed and they are able to stay afloat. I have seen sick ducks whose feathers lost that oil because they ducks were sick and they would have drowned had they tried to stay in the water. So it works but sometimes it doesn't.

If you made it to my blog yesterday and left a comment on our 52nd anniversary, I would like to thank you now. Thanks.

That's how they sleep then. I've always wondered...

This may be the typical scene in Switzerland, I guess. I like this photo.
