barefoot

A few weeks ago, Z in Villigen posted a picture of a woman wandering around barefoot in the town of Stilli. She asked me if I had seen anyone walking around the streets of Zürich in their bare feet. I actually hadn't seen anyone. That is, until today, when I spotted this barefoot girl at the tram stop-in rainy weather, no less! I especially like the woman on the bench in the background. She seems to be giving this girl a strange look. Apologies for the blurriness--took this picture in a hurry and only had one free hand, as I was holding a bag of groceries and an umbrella in the other hand....

She's wearing a very unique outfit. I hope she doesn't step on anything to give her an owie.

These are photos I some way I love most because they really give an idea on what and how cities are.

Your blog is a wonderful companion to the our new established zurich event blog at http://zuricheventblog.blogspot.com

Good work! ;-) It was worth a separate entry on our blog.

if you know people who would like to make us aware of events going on in Zürich they can write at zuricheventblog@yahoo.com to become an author or to tell about an event.

You have them, too! Did you ever see the barefooter's site that I mentioned over on Abraham Lincoln's blog the day that I did my Stilli post?

I was in your beautiful city this day. Loved it! Graceful little big city... Unfortunately, I only had 7 hours to enjoy it and I knew there would be rain after 6pm... I enjoyed every single minute, even walking through the rain while I strolled around the Zurichsee... I took some 400 pictures :)

Y'all seem to have a good life there...

Going barefoot is just fine. Going barefoot in the rain is also just fine. More people should do it. It's healthy, it feels good and you also haven't lived until you go barefoot in the rain.

I am a barefooter since birth.I have been to Zurich barefoot as well as many places in Europe! I have had many many people think I am "strange" by their standards, but my companion would have it no other way. He is shod, I am bare. I completely agree with Mr. Reaves... life is good... life barefoot is better!

Who is she - why was she doing this ?

She looks great in bare feet, very relaxed and beautiful too. She's got no shoes at sight, no bag to put them in, so it was her decision not to wear shoes that day. Besides, she's got pretty feet. I guess she's a barefooter. Where did she come from, where was she going to barefoot?

Barefoot in the rain is the best, it's all splashy and nothing gets stuck to your feet. :)

Great! She is more beautiful, healthy and stylish than anybody around!

How stiff you are in Europe about the 'barefoot' taboo...
